prehistory: barbaric invasions

Germination: July 2019, a small seed was growing. Flat chested, I felt it. Only I did, feel it. The doctor missed the mark. October 2019, routine shower, soaping up, there it is again. I called in reinforcements, was subjected to tests. Most likely a cyst. You can joke about it whilst you wait for test results, it’s likely to be nothing. Something came up which needed closer examining. What is B-RADS4? Google it, investigate further, puncture deeper. We’re in December now.

Wait. Wait. Wait… December 23, invasive carcinoma, code word for breast cancer.

Hindsight: I should have kept a diary. I’m writing this almost three months after the fact. Details charged with emotions then are missed now. In many ways, this is a cold and distanced take on what happened to me at the end of December 2019 and the beginning of 2020.
